Carlee Russell pleads guilty in abduction hoax
Carlee Russell appeared in a Jefferson County courtroom Thursday afternoon, eight months after she vanished from the side of Interstate 459 and sparked a nationwide panic, and asked for mercy as she pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors.

Carlee Russell press conference from Hoover PD
Hoover Police held a press conference to update the case surrounding Carlee Russell. Russell vanished Thursday, July 13, after calling 911 and her brother’s girlfriend to say she was stopping on Interstate 459. She said she was checking on a toddler she spotted walking along the interstate wearing only a white T-shirt and diaper. After two days of fear and frantic searches, Russell showed up at her family’s Hoover home on Saturday, July 15.
