Amanda Khorramabadi is an Emmy Award-winning video journalist, editor, camerawoman and producer born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama.
She has produced hundreds of social media videos covering breaking news, politics, civil rights history, the environment and culture. Amanda specializes in making complex information easy to understand and engaging for everyday audiences. Her videos have reached millions across YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X and Instagram.
Amanda’s reporting and visual storytelling have earned multiple honors from the Alabama Press Association, including Best Use of Social Media, Best Public Service and top awards for Best Use of Video across multiple years. She has also been recognized by the Education Writers Association as both a winner and a finalist for her video storytelling.
Her work has contributed to major national recognition as well. In 2025, Denied: Alabama’s Broken Parole System was named a finalist for the ABA Silver Gavel Award, the nation’s highest honor for journalism and the law. Amanda served as the project’s sole videographer and editor, producing the entire video component and directing additional motion graphics. The video also received praise from Bryan Stevenson, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative, for its clarity, depth and storytelling impact.
When she’s not behind a camera, Amanda is likely at the dog park with her standard poodle, Doodles.
